Cleanliness is next to godliness

There's an optician in town. I've used him for years.

I go once a year or so and get my eyes checked to see if things have gotten worse. Once things have regressed enough, it's time for some new glasses.

So I head over to my guy. The frames at the optometrist leave a lot to be desired.

And you know the first thing he does after a warm greeting?

He offers to clean your lenses and frames. And I always accept.

Then for the next few minutes it's one of those catch-up, small-talk conversations. I'm walking around trying on frames and he's talking over his shoulder from the back room.

Eventually he reemerges with my glasses.

And I tell you what...

Those suckers are a work of art when he's done. I genuinely don't understand how he does it.

So clean and clear I swear I see better.

Is he the cheapest in town? Certainly not.

Is there anyone that can match his attention to detail? Unlikely.

And that's why I keep going back.

Best,

John Montgomery
