Gravel at 6 a.m.
I pull into the parking lot. Gravel crunches beneath the tires.
I'm the only one there. But to be fair it's only 6 in the morning. The sun's not even up.
My routine is the same. Always the same.
I open the car door. And only then do I stop the engine.
I want to hear the silence show up. To feel it.
And then sit in it. 30 seconds? A minute? I'm never sure.
It's time to begin...
Back in February I started preparing for an ultramarathon. And if you know me that's really something. I hat(ed) running. Or thought I did. You know the feeling. You decided somewhere around 5th grade that it's not for you. Maybe it's not running, but you have a bucketful of assumptions you've carried into adulthood.
You know what they are.
Here I am waking up bright and early every Saturday morning to hit the trail for my long runs. How? I hired a coach. Maybe it's time to consider doing the same. But for your money.
Talk soon,
John
