Turning Lemons into Lemonade
There's been quite a few new subscribers lately.
Welcome and thank you. I know it's no small thing to share your email with someone these days.
About a month ago a client of mine purchased a new Tesla Model Y. I consider these bad boys the finest mode of transportation on the road today. Smooth as butter, darn near autonomous, and Grok stands ready to help with just about anything.
(Don't misunderstand. I'm sure the Italian craftsmen make a finer car, but not necessarily a better mode for daily A-to-B.)
But despite the Model Y's excellence, this particular car has been a bit of a dud.
He picked the car up in Memphis and started the trek back to Shreveport. About an hour into the trip he noticed one of the rear windows was cracked a smidge. Weird. He rolled it up and kept driving.
An hour passes. The same thing, only this time the window doesn't go up.
So he drives on to Shreveport. A bit irritated, but still excited about the new car. Fast forward about 30 days and two mobile Tesla repair visits later. The issue has yet to be resolved.
He had to wake up early today and drive to Texas and let the Tesla service folks work their magic. TBD... Oh... and he left early because the A/C wasn't blowing cold anymore...
I guess I share this story because it's probably a top 10 lesson on John's Important Lessons list:
Crap Happens, so just deal with it the best you can.
Sometimes that's a car that needs fixin'. Sometimes you've been looked over for an opportunity at work. And sometimes the stock market doesn't give you the returns you'd like.
And when this stuff happens, it's much easier to handle when you have a sounding board. Maybe it's a spouse, a friend, or dare I say it?
An advisor.
If you are considering buying a Tesla. Or just bought a lemon... gimme a shout.
